This is my Day 1 entry for 31 Days of Halloween Writing Challenge (“You’re a host of a ghoulish party. What’s on the menu?”) hosted by Flutter by Literature.
When ye host the witches three,
Best ye feed them well…
For if they leave unsatisfied,
They’ll surely cast a spell…
Young Hilda craves fresh eyes of newts,
Captured from the glade…
Matilda wants chilled old snake blood,
She drinks like lemonade…
Dear Flo, who is the last of three,
Requires a special palate…
Don’t fix her types of any cheese,
Just serve her bat wing sallat!

Thank you! I don’t know that I have a knack for it but I certainly do like to write it 🙂

I absolutely love this. I’ve never had a knack for poetry but clearly, you do. This reminds me of the introduction to MacBeth with the three witches. 😀

Excellent. I laughed at that. and the Names were interesting. My Grandmother’s name was Flo and she had a sister Hilda. Maybe they were Witches and they never told me. 🙂

Thank you! Quite a coincidence on the names I would say…or maybe not…interesting. Are you sure there wasn’t another sister, Matilda, that they haven’t mentioned? 😉
