Halloween Challenge, Day 29: Witch’s Brew (poem)

The witch’s brew, a most foul stew,

Concocted for a spell…

What it’ll do, I have no clue,

It wafts a nasty smell…

Disgusting things, like fruit bat wings,

And other creature parts…

The witch, she sings, a raven brings,

Some black and shrivelled hearts…

She stirs in now, an ox and cow,

The mix is really thick…

Another sow, I don’t see how,

It makes me rather sick.

I watched no more, I quit before,

I lost my eaten lunch…

My head was sore, sat on the floor,

Just huddled in a bunch.

Now feel repressed, perhaps I’d best,

End this strange witch tale,

Tight in my chest, must pass this test,

I’d really hate to fail.

This is my entry for Day 29 of the 31 Days of Halloween writing challenge (what’s in the witch’s cauldron) – Sounds like a test to me, “Pop Quiz! What’s she making?” πŸ™‚

It is a great challenge hosted over at Flutter by Literature, be sure to check it out and join in for a big finish!
