Halloween Challenge, Day 20: The Witch (poem)

A regular morning, head off to work,

Yell at the traffic, some people are jerks…

Once in the office, looking about,

See Geraldine and I give a shout…

Surrounding her cube is a low smokey haze,

The logs of a fire are set ablaze…

Over the fire a culdron is hanging,

Stirring the pot she hits the sides banging…

Now she does start a deep lowly chant,

The hat on her head sits at a slight slant…

She tosses in spiders and tails of a newt,

And for some crazy reason a full leather boot…

She cries out at once, “At last it is done!”,

Then offers to all, “Free punch everyone!”

So what do you think? Do you drink any of her “punch?”

This is my entry for Day 20 of the 31 Days of Halloween writing challenge (a woman in your life is replaced by a witch) hosted over at Flutter by Literature. Don’t miss out on the fun! Head over and check it out now!
