Natural Symmetry, a Poem

One of nature’s pleasures,

Are patterns to behold…

These simple shapely treasures,

Just sometimes break the mold…

Obedient to structure,

And lovely symmetry…

So lucky I could capture,

This five leafed pedigree.

While walking around a nearby park this scene really drew my eye. The orderly symmetry of this 5 leafed plant contrasted against the chaotic mix of vegetation around and behind it. It probably helped draw attention because it had started to change color a bit too.

Have a great day!

Birds of a Feather Flocking Poem

Gregarious,

Birds of a feather…

Flying straight south,

A flock together…

No room for others,

Not even some ducks…

Nor any raptors,

And nothing that clucks!

I always enjoy watching the geese fly by in the spring and fall with their effective and very recognizable ‘V’ pattern. Though I wish they wouldn’t stay so much in the summer. They really do make quite a mess around the local ponds here…particularly the Canadian variety. Maybe we need another wall *tongue in cheek* 😉

Comments? Anyone? Bueller?

Jolly Roger Encounter A Poetic Tale

The fog was quite thick, still the sun shine was bright…

It was hard to see in such nebulous light…

We were on our skiff quite a bit from the shore,

I had never felt quite so lost before…

Just then, my love, she saw it emerge,

Huge and slow like a drifting iceberg…

Upon it was flying a skull and some bones,

A flag with well known, ominous tones…

The galley, she drifted, no sound came from the deck,

Compared to her size we were naught but a speck…

We wondered allowed, why she hadn’t a crew,

There were not any pirates, not even a few…

A ghost ship perhaps, slipped its mooring and fled,

And ended up here spreading round quite some dread…

Still it was scary, I can honestly say,

We were glad when she passed and meandered away.

Poet the Pirate’s Outrageous Poem

martinique-844982_640

Yo ho, me mateys, have I a tale,

Lean back n’grab ye some rum or ale…

It shan’t take long, I’ll be right smart,

Arrr, here we go, me’s at the start…

T’were quite the night, on the briny deep,

Them waves been rough, we’d not had sleep…

ship-2275399_640

From somewhere right close, we heard quite a tune,

So we searched aft and bow by the light o’the moon…

Twas Petey wot saw them, ‘Oh Blimey’ he cried,

And mere seconds later the rest of us spied…

seeByLightOfMoonShip

Fer out in the sea, swam there three gorgeous ladies,

They sang and they giggled, then waved at us mateys…

We couldn’t believe it, of us they weren’t scared,

In circles they swam, as we stood there and stared…

The oldest she winked, an took over o’me heart,

I nearly dove in, as my sense did depart…

But left us, they did, swam away from our sails,

Then just be’fer divin, they waved with their tails…

A night doesn’t pass, where they stay from my mind,

If ye happen upon them, I do hope you’ll be kind.
