Carpet Corral, A Rhyming Sunday Photo Fiction

The cry rang out from aisles away.

“I’ve lost my toy! My dino named Ray!”

So I rushed to the call of the little boy.

Said, I know where to find your dino toy.

He is guarding the carpet from unsavory men.

Amongst the rolls he stands in the pen.

The boy looked at me sadly, confused look on his face.

Let me show you, I started to lead to the place.

Just a few aisles back you will find your pal.

Making his stand in the carpet corral.

A short fun rhyme for this week’s Sunday Photo Fiction hosted by Donna. I hope it brought a smile to your face!

Summer’s Morn, A Poem

Summer’s morn, slight haze in the air, golden rays shining through out…

Breezes warm, this moment to share, peacefulness spreading about…

Pleasure born, now feeling aware, time for the daily grind route.

I find it hard to believe that August is already ending. What a crazy year this has been. I captured this serene photo weeks ago on a typical work day morning. It was a nice feeling, a moment of peace before the standard daily grind kicks in, and I am just now getting a moment to post. I hope I was able to share a bit of that feeling with you as you start your week.

Have a great and blessed day!

A Last Bit of Color, A Poem

Captured near the end of day,

A vibrant color on display…

The glowing red, the sun’s last rays,

Alights these branches, as contrast plays…

A last hurrah before the night,

Then settle down, to soon sleep tight.

A gentle breeze, a clear sky, the light just about to fade, very relaxing in these turbulent times. Who needs drama anyway? I sure don’t. Have a good night!

Bright Eyes, Awaken

Bright eyes now open, awake in the light,

Making such a wholesome sight…

A time to shine, a place to grow,

How far to climb, only Heaven knows.

It has been awhile since I have posted. Much has happened in the time since I have started this blog. My wife and I now have two wonderful children. A toddler of 2 and our newest member, a son just shy of 7 weeks.

My free time has been affected as expected and my hobbies fight for their slice, including this wonderful place. I still struggle with a clear direction here and have pondered setting it aside completely or trying to turn it into something more. Time will tell I suppose.

In the meantime, I wish everyone well and safe travels through this life! -Jim
