Scene: Better Together

[Begin scene]

Potted flowers display vibrant blooms in pinks and violets, the veins bolder than their surrounding petals…

An oak seedling stretches forth from behind the petals, adding solid greens to the mix, a leaf turned up as if waving to the crowd…

Clover, sporting its traditional three leaf patterns, blanket the soil just below the flowers…

Various other volunteers add their shapes, textures, and shades of green to the mix…

The flowers alone are pretty, this diverse setting with all the variety is beautiful.

Daily Prompt: Simmer

Today’s prompt immediately brings to mind something hot.

A pan left on the stove to simmer, allowing the foods to blend. The use a positive action and the literal use of the word.

It also has quite figurative uses. A person that is angry can often be said to be simmering and generally are left to cool down before further intereaction. In this case simmer is used in a more negative means.

These are essentially the first thoughts, what did the prompt bring to mind for you?

Thankful For: Our Puppy Dog

Each day up to and including Thanksgiving I will post about one thing I am thankful for. I invite you to do the same if you are so inclined.

Today, I am thankful for our puppy dog.

Her name is Reesie and I met her the night I met my wife to be.  She was a three month old puppy at the time and was this tiny bundle of energy practically bouncing off the walls! My wife jokes that she used to have a puppy but that puppy has become mine as she has taken such a liking to me. She loves us both though and is a ton of fun.

The picture above is Reesie in her dragon costume. She was sitting on my lap as we passed out candy for Halloween the other day. One of my favorite games to play with her is Hide and Seek. My wife and I will run and hide in the house and Reesie comes and finds us. She gets pretty excited 🙂

She has a great personality and I am thankful to have her in my life.

Do you have any pets you are thankful for?

Scene: Peeking Through

[Begin scene]

A calm evening, the breeze barely stirring…

The sun, just starting to turn orange on its evening retreat from the day, peeks through the leaves of a still very green maple…

Like a golden soul the light shines through, a beacon of hope in this often dark world…

Does my soul shine so bright? Does yours?
