Scene: Hanging On

[Begin scene]

Changed and brittle, a few orange-red leaves remain, hanging on to a branch that has shed all the rest…

Neighbors have fled, a fall to the ground, yet these few cling to their precarious perch…

One day, they too must succumb and join the others who fell before them, a fate all of us face…

On this morning, however, they can still bask in the glow of the morning sun, another chance to sway in the breeze.

#nature of things

[End scene]
