Foggy mist rises from a small pond, lit up by the morning sun…

A triangular red flag stirs in the cool breeze waving from a pole just beyond the pond…

A tan, almost white patch of sand can be seen just a handful of yards to the left…

A golfer stands with feet apart, aligned with the target down course, the chosen club still raised in the air…

A little white ball sails through the air towards its destination as bystanders look on, waiting to see where it will land…

Suspense.

Thankful For: Our Mattress

Each day up to and including Thanksgiving I will post about one thing I am thankful for. I invite you to do the same if you like the idea.

Today, I am thankful for our mattress.

Mattresses are funny things, everyone has a particular thing they are looking for in a mattress to help them get a full night’s sleep, and let’s face it…good sleep is important stuff!  Some people like stiff mattresses with little give that keeps them quite flat. Other people want a softer mattress that engulfs their body in plush. Our mattress falls somewhere in between. However, the particular feature we were looking for was movement isolation.  My wife and I both tend to move around a lot. We are not strictly back sleepers and will flip from side to side, to belly, to back throughout the night. On a traditional mattress the whole bed would shake each time and disturb the other. To remedy this, we settled on a memory foam based mattress that is quite comfortable and does an amazing job at absorbing the extra movements when either of us moves around. It has improved our sleep quality each night immensely.

Thankful For: Holiday Season

Each day up to and including Thanksgiving I will write a post about something I am thankful for. If you like the idea I invite you to do the same.

Today I am thankful for the holiday season.

Each year at this time the world around me takes on such a bright and cheerful atmospheric existence. Decorations in every store. Lights and displays scattered throughout various neighboorhoods. It does a lot to improve ones mood now that the air is cold and the skies clouded over. Also helps to get into a festive mood for the coming of Christmas.

Thanful For: My Phone

Each day up to and including Thanksgiving I will post about something I am thankful for. If you like the idea I invite you to do the same.

Today I am thankful for my phone.

My phone is currently a Motorola Droid 4. Not a new model but a model that isn’t so large, has a slide out full keyboard, and still handles most of todays websites and apps. This post was even created using the Android WordPress app from my phone. I really like having the physical keyboard. It makes typing out lengthy text messages or other walls of text much faster and the tactile feedback is very pleasant. I will have to look for a physical keyboard phone when this one finally dies but I fear they have fallen out of favor and may be difficult to find. Anyway, I have been very happy with this phone for several years and am thankful to have it.
