What Darkness Reveals, A Thoughtful Poem

Look here at this grass,

What do you see…

Scattered dark bits en masse,

That resemble a tree…

Revealed by the darkness,

Rather than light…

An image in sharpness,

You see it too, right?

Standing over this shadow I had a thought about how not only shining light on things lets us see them but that often we can tell what is present by the darkness left behind. I thought it a bit intriguing and something worth sharing. Care to discuss?

A Sheepishly Silly Post

What do you call a flock of sheep coming down a mountain headed straight for you?

A Baaavalanche!

Or perhaps it is a Lambpede!

I saw this image and wondered if they were headed to Woolstock!

Ok, ok, I know I’m not pulling the wool over anyone’s eyes here!

I wonder how many will find this post to be vapid. I happened to find this photo browsing the random photos and thought it looked interesting for some reason that I haven’t been able to fully surmise. So I started trying to come up with some flash fiction or a cute poem and nothing seemed to materialize. Must be a bit of writer’s block as I am sure there are many creative stories waiting to be told from it.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the photo and a bit of silly humor! Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Home Sweet Home, A Pleasant Poem

Home sweet home, that place to rest,

Even if yours is a nest…

Like this one here, perched up high,

It must be nice for those that fly…

Imagine now the comfort here,

When ones you love are nestled near…

That warming heart, and mind at ease,

Sounds so nice, I’ll take one please!

This captured my eye on a recent nature walk. The way the red berries stand out drew my attention and I didn’t even notice the nest tucked in behind them at first. Framed with just the right darker green foliage behind.

I hope you enjoyed the photo and poem! Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Bad For Business, A Flash Fiction

Jenny had just finished setting the chairs and tables up for the new day. She wondered to herself why she even bothered but knew the answer was the same as it had always been, her grandfather needed the help at his restaurant.

She knew it was pointless though and it was hard to shrug off the depressing feelings. No-one had come for weeks now. The threat of another bombing in the area kept prospective customers away. Her grandfather’s restaurant would soon be just a memory…

When I saw this photo, devoid of any people, my mind simply wanted to create a story to give a reason why. A tad sad but all too real possibility in this age. Quite a shame really.
