The Pink Monstrosity, A Sunday Photo Fiction

“What is that pink monstrosity you have back there?”, asked Fred.

“Truth is, no one knows. We’ve had the biologists from down at the university over. They think it may be some new species. It showed up one morning, cooing at my fishing boat moored at the dock and hasn’t left since.”, replied Bill.

“Huh,” exclaimed Fred. “Must have been lonely.”

“Yeah, I think the poor thing’s done fallen for my boat.” said Bill. “Now there’s an unrequited love if I ever saw one. It’s been great for fishing though. I hop in the boat, troll along the shore and ole ‘Pinky’ there keeps tossing ’em in…trophy fish for sure. Must be trying to woo the boat is all I can figure.”

Butterfly Frustrations, A Flitting Poem

Butterfly so filled with hunger,

Flits from bloom to bloom…

Wary of each move I make,

My camera needs more zoom…

I try to capture better poses,

Yet my fortunes fade…

With wistful glances I give in,

And instead write this tirade.

I tried to capture several photographs of butterflies the other day with nothing more than the camera on my phone so it isn’t surprising I couldn’t get a better photo. Get too close and they simply flitted away to another flower patch 😦

Maybe I will have better luck next time!

Have a great Sunday! Rest up and prepare to tackle the week!

Like Lava In The Sky, A Fiery Poem

The sky is filled with molten gold,

A scene that never quite seems old…

With touches of red like some cooling flows,

Of white hot lava, a wondrous pose…

Oh how I adore such beautiful views,

When skies hold more than the normal blues.

This is another beautiful sunset photographed by my wife. She has made it a habit to look at the sunsets on her way home in the evenings and will pull over to snap some photos of the more interesting ones for me and my blog here. She’s so wonderful and I am so lucky!

I hope you enjoyed the view! Thanks for visiting and have a great Friday!

Little Deuce Coupe, A Foto Flash Fiction

Johnny had been sitting at the old mining pits for 20 minutes now in his decked out 4×4 Jeep. The Craiglist Ad had read:

Off Road Challenge

Fri, 9/27 – 9PM

@ the Pits

Bring Your Best!

So here he was waiting, 9:05 showing on the clock. He was hoping whoever posted that would have shown because he was anxious to show off in his new ride.

Just then he heard a loud rumble as a souped up Fisher Price Coupe pulled up beside him. The four year old inside looked over with the biggest grin and nodded.

“GOOOO!!!”, the little boy yelled as he shot off into the highly uneven terrain of the pits.

Bewildered for a moment, Johnny shrugged, then floored it in pursuit. Time to show off he mused!
