Dash of Pink (poem)

Dash of pink, a bit of flare,

So much charm, I had to share…

This Christmas cactus, now in bloom,

Can ease the drag of winter gloom…

So take a look, feel free to stare,

And know He came, to show he cares.

I hope everyone is able to make time for family and friends as we draw closer to Christmas!

WOTD: Shambles (poem)

So much in our lives to be thankful for,

If naught else but here to exist…

Yet seldom I see any thanks out to pour,

No, this notion so many resist…

It leaves inside us but shambles,

Rots right down to the core…

I could go on with my rambles,

But this impression needs no more.

I haven’t participated in the Word of the Day Challenge lately and found today’s word of Shambles striking a chord. We’ve become a society so absorbed in ourselves we often fail to be thankful for much of anything. Even the day set aside for the concept in the U.S. (Thanksgiving) has become little more than a bookend to the Christmas spending season. Sad…

Morning Musing : Raindrops (poem)

Rain drops on the window,

A sound like tiny drums…

Letting all inside know,

By their incessant hums…

The day you have ahead,

Is filled with gloom and gray…

So maybe stay in bed,

Until it goes away.

Just a little diddy of a poem this morning as I am listening to the rain outside while getting ready to head to work. A morning musing of just wanting to crawl back into bed on this dreary day.

Hope the weather is nice wherever you are! Have a great day!

Sea of Clouds (poem)

This sea of clouds, far as you see,

Who knows what lies beneath?…

A quiet town, or winding stream,

A grove of mighty trees?…

Up here above, a world apart,

No way to really know…

At least until, the clouds depart,

Revealing the lands below.

I took these photos on Thursday when on a return flight home. As I gazed out the window at this solid blanket of clouds I thought of how far away and unknown the ground below was. Anything at all could be happening below and so long as the clouds remained, I would not know.

I hope you’re having a nice weekend!
