Keeps Honest Men Honest, A Flash Fiction

I remember the times when conversations with my grandmother remained germane but lately they stray in unexpected directions. I have been told it may be due to her memories becoming increasingly foggy now that she has reached such elderly heights as one hundred years old. Just now I had asked her what she used to keep locked up in that old wicker basket.

I am quite curious what might be worth enough to lock up, yet placed in a basket that could easily be broken into. Somehow though, we ended up talking about rainbows.

I may never know and must simply assume it’s another lock to keep honest men honest.

Welcomed Home, A Twittering Tale

The factory where Drew worked already had several safety complaints this quarter. The frayed load straps that caused the large slab to fall would be yet another.

This was the third workplace death this year but it no longered mattered to Drew. Heaven welcomed him home.

Like Peas In A Pod, FOTD And Brief Poem

Like peas in a pod,

These berries are close,

By this path that I trod,

In a place quite remote,

Surrounded by leaves,

Still vibrantly green,

Where shadows form weaves,

Enhancing the scene.

More berries and a short poem for Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge (including autumn leaves and berries).

I like how crisp the colors are in this photo and how the shadows dance among the leaves.

I hope you have a great day!
