Time flies like an arrow, butterflies like a flower

I made this doodle several days ago but find the center makes me think of a butterfly.

I was checking out some of the likes other bloggers have left me and I consequently came across Tom Peace’s nature photography blog which provided some inspiration for this next scene.

Deep pink petals surround a soft orange center which tops a slender green stem…

Perched on this beautiful flower rests an even more beautiful creature…

Thin velvety wings like stained glass windows shine bright in yellows and golds…

Its body a match in brightness, host to six tiny legs that cling to the flower against a slight breeze…

The butterfly sips from the delicate flower, its wings alight in the daytime sun…
