Prison Break, A Flash Fiction

“We can’t just leave them here!”, yelled Thomas, “They will know where to start looking!”

“You’re right”, Mitchell replied. “Scotty, put the oars in them and push them back out onto the river”, he ordered.

“Why should I be the one to get wet!?”, argued Scotty, “That water is freezing!”

“Because I say so”, shouted Michael, “Just do it!”

“Do it yourself!”, Scotty said crossing his arms.

“We don’t have time for this!”, Thomas cut in, “Fine! I’ll do it”

As Thomas was pushing the kayaks out into the river a police helicopter flew over looking for the escapees. They spotted the bright kayaks immediately, along with the men nearby on the shore.

Police cars showed up only moments later, sirens blaring.

As they were loaded into the back of a police transport van, Mitchell muttered, “I had told him camouflage kayaks! Ralphie never gets anything right!”
