So for the last year I have been working through the Evolve Artist program, an online, feedback driven education in art fundamentals and oil painting techniques. It is worth every penny.
Pictured here is a 9×11 oil on canvas sheet painting based on a program provided reference image. This was done in a monochrome technique of only painting the light present in the scene onto a pre-toned canvas and leaving all shadows unpainted. Based on feedback there were a few shadows I failed to leave empty but I still find this painting to be pretty solid so decided to share.
